I have to stress that the netbook runs on XP. I even have an XP computer but that is all. Neither product arrived on installation disks, just a partition.

The three alternatives such as New disk , New motherboard , New netbook . Your selection, depending upon the cost as well.

Hi , In your view, do you think it is desirable becoming grip of a boot flash, or better or cheaper with a new disk? I bring it if I go on a new HDD there will be no OS with it thus I would have to begin from scratch.

What do you intend with a "boot flash"? New hard disks, surely, do not arrived on an OS. You have to reload that yourself from the recovery media that arrived on the netbook or that you made when all however was alright.

There is a repeating story on netbook owners that came out not to purchase a DVDRW USB drive that lets them to make recovery media. Later they might complain about the cost to reinstall the OS. I think, I have read about a case above this as well. But it seems you will require at any rate the new HDD, the USB DRIVE and recovery media from the machine's manufacturer. Should be cheaper as compared to a repair counter.
