Default Motherboard did not work- which one to purchase

I am using the TFORCE P965 SOCKET 775 CPU board has few boasted capacitors and yet my computer would not switch on. I have an ati 4870 HD and a Q6600 processor. When choosing a latest motherboard should I expect at only the socket specification in conditions of compatibility? Any recommendations considering what to acquire on a reasonable budget? Too, is the heat paste thingy sold individually or is it furnished with CPU boards?

If it is only blown capacitors and you have the power to solder, you could test substituting the caps yourself and resurrecting the board. Otherwise, you have to regard the socket type, random access memory needs, and graphics socket. This will determine you to fairly much the similar era as the actual PC. If you need to promote, then of course you will expenditure much more because you will require a latest processor, Random Access Memory, video card, etc.

That's right I am thinking of acquiring this ASRock one, which looks to adjust entire my specifications but why is it so affordable?? I have read that ASRock is the "low end ASUS" - is my system gonna be dumber with this one?

Fine another queries- my last CPU board was of the ATX form element, while another one that I am expecting at is mATX- will it even adjust in my case and will the screw positions be ok? Or does this varry case through case- mine is server-sized.
