    Default GA-P55m-UD4 memory problem

Hi , I've been containing some stern troubles with my latest motherboard and ram. I have the GA-P55m-UD4 with cmd4gx3m2a1600c8 ram (which is to say Corsair Dominator 4GB 1600 MHz CAS 8 dual directed). Anyway my difficulty is that the motherboard only distinguishes 1 of the sticks, however it identifies the other one is there. It is very eccentric, the bios will say that it has two 2gig sticks and yet only use 1 of them. Does anyone else have this problem and have they fixed it?

I think I may have found out why the problem is happening, but i am not sure. On the manufacturer's, they have a list of friendly memory and my memory isn't on the list. I also had the same problem on a GA-p55m-ud2 board, so if anyone has similar problems on that board this thread might help them as well.

Thanks to anyone who figures this problem out or cares to even look at this.

Anyway, can you boot the arrangement with just one attach please? Then with the other? What occurs? Any dissimilarity?

What voltage and timing is BIOS using for your memory? Have you attempted setting the voltage and timing physically in BIOS (1.65V, 8-8-8-24)?

So, I can fill the arrangement with either attach of memory, and when I locate the timings and voltage it doesn't help the difficulty. I am managements Windows 7 64 bit if that helps. I can apply the XMP profile also which auto sets the ram rate and timings and suck but that doesn't assist either. Also thanks for answering rapidly ha-ha didn't suppose anyone to see it so fast.

So either attaches boots. What power and timings did BIOS decide? Sorry, should have requested that before.

You didn't inform me what voltage and timings BIOS decided when using 2 sticks and place to auto. (That one I *did* ask before lol.)

And when you speak you place the timings, do you mean you physically set them in BIOS?

PSU make and model? Vid card make and design?

Ok so I’m supposition you desire to recognize everything I have an 850 watt Coolmaster and a 4870x2 sapphire brand. The timings I set are 8-8-8-24 and voltage of 1.640 (which is the contiguous it can get without going over 1.65 which id rather not do) and the QPI set to 1.150. The timings and voltage are also set at those specs when set to Auto under XMP profile. If I don’t allow the XMP the timings are 1333 MHz, 9-9-9-24 with 1.5V. And yes I physically set the timings, unless stated otherwise.

So the memory sticks are "superior" - as a minimum they work separately.

I expect you could try the comfortable timings the mobo set on auto, and kick the voltage up to 1.64.

I understand you could also try comforting the load on the psu by pulling one of the vid cards. If that works, the difficulty is likely the psu. If you have another psu, you could also try that with a lone vid card if the psu is slighter.

If not, it appears likely it’s the motherboard.

well a lot of other people had this similar difficulty with this motherboard, also I had all the fractions running on my old Maximus Formula with a Q6600 before I knobbed to this new mobo and processor.

Well, that kind of justifies the psu. Not many missing other than motherboard, unless has a trick up his covering. Attempt locating the bios within 30 minutes.

Had a same difficulty with my Gigabyte P55-UD4P board and 8 GB or Corsair 1600 RAM would boot fine, but after re-boot it would stop half the RAM. Tried restoring MB, no dice new BIOS, not it lastly restore the Corsair RAM with OCZ Gold and presto, 8 GB all the time!

I've seen a number of people with this subject, with different MBs.Almost all are using the same RAM or something same from Corsair.

I am supposing that Gigabyte will ultimately liberate a bios inform to fix this difficulty with the ram but not sure when that will approach, does anyone else recognize? Oh and thanks Mak-daddy, that’s what I shaped after appearing at the holding memory sheet on the Gigabyte webpage.

Oh one more thing that is eccentric, does anybody else have Turbo characteristic one where it elevates each core by x1 in its place of the 1st core by x4? I was inquiring on how to check if the turbo characteristic is working properly? I have never seen the first core got to x24 multiplier even when running single thread tasks.
