    I am appearing for a gaming PC that can handle unbreakable attacks to on high settings. I am appearing to only expend about a grand. Is this probable?

    Yes. It is probable. Now go specification out a system and response.

    Basic Gaming system:

    A decent motherboard from ASUS or Gigabyte
    640GB WD or better
    Vista x64 with Win 7 code
    2*2GB DDR3 or more
    4850 or 4870 or GTX260
    A good cooler like a S1283 or Core Contact Freezer if overclocking
    A good PSU like a 550VX or better.
    i5 or Phenom II
    A case like an Antec 300 or better (i.e. Antec 900, HAF 932).

    I was seeming at the AMD Phenom II X4 965 CPU or the Intel® Core™2 i7-860 CPU I am new to the whole pc object so I can’t actually overclock.. I just in fact want to play aroma 2 on high as well as other games but it’s a hurt! Thanks for the response. I appreciate it! What do you consider of these two?

    Initially, the difference between a 955 and a 965 is minor (perfection. wise). Honestly, once you build your own pc you will learn to overclock. Both CPUs you planned are very able to playing games on high, but the i7 is a hundred dollars more expensive, so big savings by going for AMD there. Honestly I think the 955 is a huge bargain at 180, but again if you have the additional money the i7 is great too. IF all your doing that’s taxing on the system is gaming, then I’d save 100 dollars and go for the 955.

    I explicitly admit to not being a fan of AMD - so would decide the i5/i7 option if you plan to keep your system for a few years without further improves.

    That said the 955 is a very good CPU (sorry Intel) and if gaming is your major thing then you can’t actually go incorrect.

    I wouldn’t fret about the overlocking crumb too much - especially if you go for the i5/i7 as they have "Turbo Mode" which improves the processor speed when wanted for short periods.

    Games at the instant infrequently use more than a dual core so anything dual core 2.6 - 3.0 GHz will serve you well. Ideally you need 2gb of RAM for XP and 4gb of RAM to make games work well on Vista - however if you go down the vista route confirm its the 64bit version if you plan on using 4gb of RAM (xp is limited to 3gb).

    Video... well now there is abundance of very good cards out there - BUT don’t unavoidably believe all you read on the box - Nvidia are guilty on a lot of occasions of claiming incredible presentation for little money... its not always true.

    PSU = Corsair
    CASE = personal choice really Antec / Coolermaster
    Optical Drive = DVD/RW
    Mobo = ASUS / Gigabyte
    CPU = Intel i5 or AMD 955
    Video = Nvidia 275 or 4850/4870 (ATI)
    RAM = 2 x 2 GB RAM.

    So, you state the 955 can run arma 2? Because that's a bad difficult game for CPU over GPU. I just desire to be able to run arma on high and if it can do that then it will contain no difficulty with other games! I am going to post some specs from the computer in a bit and if you could let me recognize if it is worth it that would be seriously appreciated! Thanks again!

    If the game you are playing is, actually, very CPU strong then goes with the 860. It will provide you HT and turbo which will greatly advance the gaming recital. HOWEVER, most games do not have the CPU as bottleneck (right now anyway), so if you desire to save $100, go with the 955.

    I just acquired the 860 because I require it for more than gaming (local website testing, video encoding, image rendering, etc.). Just keep in mind in mainly games GPU will bottleneck your system, not the CPU.

    I was download the arma 2 demo and it sprints at max settings, (1920 x 1080 res) efficiently with a 955.

    That’s good to hear! So I will most expected by that! Is there a improved graphics card you think I should obtain? This is the one I am appearing at for the 955.

    Again sorry, if I appear a bit basic about PCs but I am new to this whole world.
