Default How to disable keyboard power off button ?

I desire to immobilize the power/sleep buttons that are on my keyboard, since I unintentionally hit them and turn the computer off.

Is this a bit that has to be immobilizes in bios? This is on a dell latitude laptop c610 and I don't recognize how to obtain into the bios previous to the hard disk encryption software takes control.

That is an extremely good query, I'd be inquiring also. One thing you could do that I contain done is presently pop out those keys... perceptibly you'd only want to do that if you never utilize these keys for their planned purpose.

Seems I inadvertently hit these keys most often when playing games.

Don't think it's a BIOS task. I believe those keyboards approach with some drivers under windows, and you can perhaps allocate them different functions in some control panel applet.

If you kill the application that's watching the particular buttons and confirm your KB is mounted as a 'standard' keyboard (102 keys? can't remember), then none of those little buttons will work, I believe.

I just exploded those keys off my keyboard with a knife, loll. It was a rapid and simple answer.

My home keyboard doesn't still contain the windows key.

If I require a keyboard shortcut for amazing, I'll construct one myself (e.g. Explorer = CTRL+ALT+E).

No, it doesn’t need any kind of driver.

Doesn’t need a driver at every or just that XP arrives with integral support? Surely there's a way of re-configuring the keys though? (Or setting them to nothing). I contained an M$ keyboard with a load of strange keys, and that had some crappy tray application that handled the weirdo keys, and IIRC they simply wouldn't work if that wasn't running... but that was a long time before now, and I was on 98SE. That KB ongoing going mental after a bit, so now I just have an old(ish) Compaq normal keyboard. I see no point in changing it as it's still very pleasant to type on.

You always could obtain the g15 gaming keyboard it locks the windows button so you can’t drive it.
