And on a side note, those nForce4 chipset do some strange things sometimes. I think they are prone to humiliating drives (could that have been what occurring? I don't know, probably not) which occurred to me once on my nForce 4 SLI, which also resolute to stop seeing my second card in SLI (though Asus fixed that). After all that though, it is upto going five years later as a secondary gaming comp, so I can't protest. Also, I think the OP stated the Deluxe, though that is the board I have as well.

Yes, the original question (about the fan) anxious the Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe. I positioned about solving my fan difficulty with the A8N-E because the bargain sounded similar and I thought it might be obliging for people to know that you don't have to eliminate the motherboard to put back the fan.

I did inform the chipset drivers before informed the BIOS (I did this a pair of years ago, and everything had been well until the other day).

Following Mongox's proposition, I checked the drive dividers and they look OK; a single panel on the system drives and two on each of the two data drives, with no unallocated space.

I don't memorize being given an option to fix AHCI drivers when I remounted Windows XP a couple of years ago; I think it was just RAID or SCSI and I chose RAID.

The SETUP screen freezing was rather perturbing, but last time I booted up it was working OK, so I expect things have settled down now.
