The old 3-wire connection has 3 wires - power, land, and the sensor speed. A contemporary has 4 wires - added wire PWM , which is managing the amount of energy distributed by the scheme fan in the fan (in plain language - governed speed fan). However, for compatibility fan control circuit is made in such a way that in the absence of signal PWM (ie, control signal), it works just the same, standard mode. 's All. You want to use a PWM fan on a standard 3-pin connector - please.

And it is possible to explain it more accessible? that for the standard mode? can I reduce the speed of fans when connected to 3x pin?

I do not understand if I cpu_fan to connect the hub and the wire cooler percent plunge in the hub, and stick more to the hub 4 fans that nothing bad will happen? Connector on the motherboard does not melt? And in the BIOS or anywhere else you can reduce the speed of all fans? each separately? ps I do not have computer education, I apologize if the questions seem silly.

Well you might say ... now seen in the description - speed, flow, noise ... it is now, and pointed to the standard, that is "full" mode. Reduce the speed ... But if on the socket where you plug (3 pin) is adjustable - it is regulated. The mat. boards such adjustment usually is. Included in the Hardware Monitor. Triggered after a reboot. Just not governed but simply supply voltage.

A hub is not in vain has a separate connection to PSU. It was from there will take up electricity, and the connector on the mother does not suffer. Yes, the BIOS must include the management of ventilators.

to connect the PWM fans again have to apply the tools and spoil connectors. And since that fit of course.
