    Default Intel i9 (Gulftown) 6-core

Most of you may contain listened to that Intel will be liberating the 6 core nehalem edition of the i7. It is said to be identified i9.

I presently include a Q6600 B3 @ stock speeds and desire to promote to the imminent Gulftown processors.

How much of a presentation amplify will I observe and what price variety can I wait for.

And has Intel speak about the X68 chipset yet, if they're mounting one and if they have resolved it have USB 3.0?

I detestation questions akin to this...no one can provide a ultimate reply until the processor is really in the hands of critics...anything else is conjecture and worthless...most users barely require 4 cores currently, let unaided 6 cores...if you desire to improve or desire a new machine, don't expect "what might be" order the best system you can pay for today!

It is impracticable to reply your questions because you are inquiring us to measure a processor which hasn't been unconfined so far... Not even in previews. Best counsel anyone can present at this point is "call back in 6 months when there's incredible concrete to converse."

Asks about movie depiction and be unsuccessful to inform us what programs he employs. Asks about games and fails to say to us which kind and what declaration. Windows start up? How frequently does that occur? Don't close your machine down, difficulty solved.

As indicated, you’re inquiring about a CPU that doesn't survive yet. You might too be asking about the i22. It isn't here, no one recognizes response later.

    Hi All

I was also marveling how much earlier the i9 will be compared to my Celeron Tualatin 1.2GHz processor.

This is genuine people that are what I am in fact employing at present. So back to the subject, how much of dissimilarity will I see?

Just purchased an i7 920 system, promote the CPU when the i9 appears and improve your video card as you perceive fit. There's completely no logic in waiting 6 months to acquire a computer that will final you 4 years.

Or keep yourself a little hundred dollars purchase just improvement your Q6600 to a Q9650.

Precisely how long has your Q6600 system ended you so far? Definitely not 4 years.
What video card do you contain in it currently? Definitely not one where your system has developed into CPU limited.

Or you could now buy a couple of $500 video cards in SLI/Xfire if all you mind about is FPS for gaming. It all arrives down to how much money you’re asking to flame for what kind of presentation enhance. What's your financial plan?

Why ask us queries Intel won’t even reply definitively? I'd say just envisage what an i7 would be akin to but just slightly faster. The way Intel has been lately I’m certain there will be another socket for the i9's too. But will software actually obtain advantage of six cores. There was a huge article on here showing the very small excellence augment from 3 to 4 cores. The most gains were from 1 to 2 cores and on some software boasting the 4th core enable completed no difference! I'll remain until software actually uses 4 cores competently before I'll improve to six.

    Hi Guys

Having a “fast” remixture process, 4.3 GHz, this symbolizes a recombination existence of 37 picoseconds, well below the “100-picosecond fence?
