    Default Connection Keeps Dropping Off

    Hello everybody

I have a cable modem operating to d-link wireless router. I will sometimes misplace my internet connection inside windows. Everything will emerge to be linked and running on both the modem and router, also task manager shows me still linked. The only way to solve the difficulty is to bypass the modem and reinstate the connection or restart the computer. My query is whether or not it sounds like a hardware difficulty or a windows problem.

Are you down the total set of connections or just the internet connection?

If immediately the internet correlation then I would have the wire company checks your lines and signal power.

If you’re losing the whole network, it also could be due to the modem losing connection. I have had this happen before.

Generally unplugging the modem and the router and then plugging them back in will work out the difficulty.

That's what I perform to resolve the difficulty or reinstate my link. The object is the wireless network still works and my Pc shows me associated, but I can't release anything internet related. When I connect the cable modem straight to the host PC all works great all the time never losing connection.

I speculate if that could be disarrangement at the router. Do you have link put to 'on insist or 'keep linked? (Terms may vary for dissimilar routers) Did you have to duplicate your MAC address onto the router to acquire linked?

You recognize what; I have the similar precise difficulty with my Centrino lappy. I've tried all to attach it- nothing works. I've had this difficulty for over a year and yet haven't found a solution.

I lastly renounce and chalked it up to ineptness w/ my linksys router and Intel’s centrino chipset.

My desktop has a linksys wireless NIC and I have no troubles with it in any way. So it's approximately certainly an inaptness matter.

Some hinder at Comcast told me to try some windows scrap and that it would attach it, but it didn't. So if you have Comcast and they propose that, don't bother.

I contain Mac/Windows systems in our studio.

We have been employing a wireless D-Link router; belongings have been on and off.
But just in the final 2 days one the Mac remains loosing the internet admission.

Connections get re-recognized only after resuming my computer and the after a few minutes over.

I am getting a visit from a technician, if he discovers the difficulty I will let you know.

    We contain a D-Link DIR-615.

After expenses in excess of 5 hours on the phone with D-Link and talking with over 5 dissimilar mediators, I was ultimately referred to someone that appeared to recognize what he was doing.

He felled my network message speed to 10 Mbps and the MTU to 1400. Now I no longer get disengaged, but the internet appears to be a bit slow. He clarifies it had something to do with modem/router communication, but I didn't grasp all of it.

As this was not occurrence with my usual Netgear hub, I would deduction it's a subject with the router.

Hate to mention a dead horse, but I just lately had a difficulty close to this and required to see if anyone found anything out previous to I ask Comcast to fall my speed. My connection has been up and organization for years on the same router and everything appeared well till yesterday. My desktop snooze the internet but yet says it's linked. It is hardlined to the router. My laptop knows the wireless, but won't attach. I tried rebooting and rearranging both modem/router and computers numerous times. I tried hard connecting the desktop directly to the modem and that appears to work, for a short time. After awhile, it drops right back off and will frequently say limited or no connection/activity.

My imac and MacBook attach via airport mutually work well but imac drops off however MacBook remains associated, no break whatsoever. So I'm thinking this is an imac difficulty not airport or router. It never did this awaiting the past 4-5 months where it does it every day.

Similar difficulty here to. I have two laptops employing Centrino that can't stay an internet link to my DIR-625, Belkin G and Linksys G Router. I've attempted all three routers and I'm operating into the similar difficulty. However, I have a desktop employing a Linksys Wireless Adapter that never loses access to the internet. So it's definitely something to do with the laptops. If it truthfully is a Centrino difficulty then wouldn't use USB wireless adapter on the laptop fix the difficulty? I haven't tried that yet...

Comcast says when the cable box misplaced its signal, the router can't obtain good communication back with the cable box. I'm not certain if that's right. He just told me to turn them all off and then turns they reverse on. Huge pain in the butt that doesn't forever work.
