Mozilla did contain its share of troubles naming its famed browser. An early edition of Mozilla's browser was called Firebird, but since that name was already being utilized by another open-source scheme, the browser was named Firefox in its place. Firefox is a different name for red panda. When asked why this browser was named so, the respond of Mozilla elders was, "It's easy to memorize. It sounds superior. It's exclusive. We like it."
