With the ever evolving graphic card technology and the enormous number of games being released, Samsung is working swiftly to come up with monitors that can justify these advances. The company has always been one of the major players in the monitor segment.
The latest in the family is the Samsung P2350. It has a classy look, that will surely charm you with its glossy-piano black finish. Moreover it offers a monster display of23in and has a width of2.5in, weighing merely 5.1 kg, pushing it to the top of your wish-list. Although the P2350 is quite sturdy in terms of build quality, we felt that the base did not compliment the overall look, also facility to adjust the stand is missing.
The touch controls are sparsely arranged at the bottom panel. All other connectivity options such as VGA, DVI-D and power connectors are housed at the back. Surprisingly, Samsung has not included a HDMI connection. The interface is fairly easy to use and so is Samsung's proprietary Magic Tune software that makes tweaking the settings quite easy, even for a novice.
Now, lets discuss how it performed in our tests. The P2350 is perhaps one amongst very few monitors that provide complete performance and best quality. It supports full-HD video. We tried a few HD videos and the quality was sharp giving satisfactory results. The contrast ratio of P2350 is 1000: 1, enabling better viewing experience in varied lighting conditions. The response time is 2ms, which is good for even high-end games. However, we did find a little bit of ghosting, while . testing some games with 60FPS. According to the manufacturers its viewing angle is 160 degree for both vertical and horizontal, and it true. Sadly, a built-in speaker is lacking.
Overall, the P3250 is a good HD monitor. But the absence of HDMI port and slightly unstable stand is a turn-off, missing the our Best Buy tag by a whisker. Otherwise the P3250 is definitely a smart buy.
