ATI just hoisted the bar with its latest applicant into an already exhilarating graphics card market with the Hemlock, the mother of all graphics card, which sits right over the Evergreen family. This occasion ATI dropped the X2 naming meeting and went with a higher sequence in its place. This dual core monster is recognized as the HD5970, which is fundamentally two HD5870s on a single PCB. From this you can imagine what the stipulation is going to be like. Take appear at the image below.
The HD5970 employs the Gen2 PLX Bridge for Crossfire giving it more bandwidth between the two cores since this new card with its 3200 Stream processors is able to delivering about 5Tflops of compute power, which is merely phenomenal. Since there are two cores the speeds of individual chips require not be too high, which is why the evasion speeds are 725MHz for the core and 1000MHz for the memory, giving you a Memory Data Rate of 4.0Gb/s. This will clearly go next to Nvidia's GTX295 for now until they unleash Fermi that will restore it. The memory on this beast is 2GB GDDR5. All this sounds actually good and I have no hesitation it's going to perform fine too, so let's depart over the card first.
