Thread: Select CPU Xeon5220 or Opteron2427

Can you please recommend several motherboards for Xeon E5520? May be other than Intel but it should me able to utilize max aspects of CPU. What about Intel S5520Sc and S5520HC?How can we discover Bandwidth of a provided CPU (speed, FSB or QPI etc)?

You'd do much improved in asking someone else that question. I am not as recognizable with the exact motherboards as I would want to be to create an exact suggestion. Normally speaking, Intel usually makes decent server boards and so does Tyan and Super micro. I have heard some good belongings and some bad belongings about Gigabyte, MSI, and ASUS's server boards, so I won't say much about them. I have built older dual Xeon machines with Intel and Super micro boards and they've been well, in fact, my present dual Xeon file server runs on a circa 2002 Intel SE7501CW2 motherboard and it works faultlessly.
