The Net PC from Airtel is powered by Microsoft and Nivio Companion. It's essentially a very basic PC which you can use to browse the web, do some basic word processing and listen to some music. It's not like a regular PC though; it has no storage or operating system of its own. All that is oilline, and you have to use it with an Airtel broadband connection and a supplemental Net PC monthly subscription. The initial asking price includes a 15" widescreen LCD monitor, keyboard and mouse. The CPU is small; about the size of a brick. It has a power button up front and a total of 4 USB ports.
Thanks to the USB keyboard, USB mouse and USB internet connectivity, you're left with just one free USB port. In terms of usability, the NetPC runs a customized version of Windows XP. It is quite simple to operate, but the limitation of not being able to install any custom applications might be a turn off for users who demand slightly more control. It does not have an optical.drive either. But it consumes only about 10 watts of power. Overall, it's not for everyone. Consider it if you have very limited needs, or are constantly in fear of data loss (the entire 10GB data is stored online and is accessible from anywhere).
