Default My E8400 is bottlenecking ?

I presently utilize an Intel Core 2 Duo e8400 at stock rate, 4 gigs of Gskill ram and 2 EVGA Nvidia Gtx 260 216 Superclocked versions in SLI. I was wondering if the processor is good enough to handle the 2 cards. I am unable to run Wow at max settings which I formed I would be able to with those cards. It's worth nothing that I'm playing on a Hanns G 28" monitor at 1920x1200. What do you believe? I don't really desire to spend a whole lot on a new i5 or i7 and have to buy a new mobo and ram too. Should I improve to a Quad maybe?

Your CPU is already in fact strong. You would see a fair difference with a Q9550 but that CPU doe’s cost quite penny.

I don’t believe that wow will use more then 2 cores so you might not observe a difference on that CPU. Overall... that improve is not obligatory to you atm.

Sorry I didn't state what motherboard I am currently employing. I am employing an EVGA 750i SLI FTW motherboard.

Also employing 4 gigs of Gskill RAM. I am type of a noob when it comes to overclocking and am scared of messing something up so that’s why I haven't attempted to OC it yet, but I might have to just do it. Thanks.

The 260 is essentially equal to the 4870, be this in mind for what I’m about to inform you.

I had an E8400 & ATI 4870 running WOW at full settings (apart from the shaders, I had those @ half) all on a 22 inch monitor operating 1650 x 1050. I tried to crossfire in another 4870 and I really lost FPS. In other words, SLI or crossfire & SLI are not supported in WOW, so one card is your only alternative.

I don’t know how you can’t climax wow on a gtx260? I used to max it out on my 9400gt. that seems like there’s another subject here.

I hesitation the e8400 is the bottleneck.... but as another consumer recommended, try a OC. I’d kick the default 3GHz to 3.3 or 3.5GHz (more if you have fine airflow and cooling) and observe if you observe a difference.

If you overclock to 4 gigahertz, which you should be equal to do reliant on your ram speed, then you will not *see* a bottleneck. That being said whether there really is a bottleneck or not is able to you if you desire to be a cpu-tuner loll. You should be well though.

If you overclock to at least 3.5 GHz you'll be superior for 2- gtx260's. However I'd suggest selling your card and receiving a single fast card that's newer and needs less power.
