Based on the cost of other Intel CPUs I think they would most probable cost it and I also think that they are receiving rid of the Celeron name.

They did, it was called the Q8200. What a portion of crap that processor was. Traded mine after some months of having it.

It did what it was invented to do - run at its rated speed. It was just a poor overclocker. That's the difficulty. Everyone employing Core2's has been spoiled and they protest if they do not acquire a 30% - 60% overclock.

    Three system summary:
    GA-EP45-UD3P | Q9550 OC'd to 3.6 GHz (425 MHz X 8.5)
    GA-EP45-UD3L | Q6600 OC'd to 3.6 GHz (400 MHz X 9)
    GA-EP35-DS3P | E5200 OC'd to 3.78 GHz (315 MHz X 12)

Why? It might be unsuccessful, but as far as Intel's worried, all they rate the CPU for is to run dependably and without errors within its rated power at its rated clock speed. The 8200, identical to all the other Core 2 CPUs, did that. Anything extra you acquire is extra. Just because it's ordinary doesn't mean that you can actually have reason to complain because a processor that was sold to you with an assurance that it would run 2.5GHz didn't run at 3.5GHz.

It's a motivating query, particularly when the E3200, a dual core Celeron, can be had for as low as $40 - they actually might be able to obtain close to that $100 mark. I'm not certain how hard it is to slap two of them together to make a quad.

But...they do have some belongings to deal with, with the whole FTC monopoly/mutually respectful practices deal going on now.

The 8200 is not yet close to what a Quad Celeron would be about. 800 MHz bus evaluated to 1333 for the 8200 and half the cache. I believe it could simply be done at 100 for Intel.

Yeah, I destined it as a joke. My point was that if they did appear with Quad Celly, then it would completely out and not value the effort.

At stock speed it would possibly suck but the E3200 has been going more than 4-4.25Ghz on air so providing it overclocked in addition to the DC I’d pick one up.
