Windows XP's Device Manager Utility let you to outlook and set the properties of all the devices linked to your PC. You can also update device drivers, enable/disable the device, outlook the device information like the device ID, and start the troubleshooter exact from the Device Manager in case of any troubles with the device. Disabling devices that are not working correctly or are no longer needed can be taken out from your computer.

Instructions

Step 1
Firstly Click "Start" and then click "Control Panel."

Step 2
Then Double-click on the "System" icon in the Control Panel window that opens.

Step 3
Click on the "Hardware" tab of the System Properties dialog box that opens and then click on "Device Manager."

Step 4
Right-click on the device that you desire to take out and then click "Properties" in the Device Manager window.

Step 5
Click on the "General" tab of the Properties dialog box that opens.

Step 6
Click to choose the "Do not use this device (disable)" options from the "Device usage"' drop-down box.

Step 7
Click "OK."
