    Default Which CPU is better for Video Editing ?


    I want to purchase a comp that will be used mainly for video editing. I have a utmost budget of ,000. Which processor should I use? I was thoughts of using the I7 but someone optional that I go with a xeon. What do you guys propose for a great video editing box? Plus what MB must I use thanks?

    7 9** would be perfect, yet the Xeon in multi tasking and video editing would offer improved shows. Depends on how profound your pockets are actually.

    I have some information about CPU for video editing gadgets. As far as your program can support 16 threads I have list of part of CPU which is use for video editing.

    2 x Xeon 5530
    2 x 3x2GB ram
    Decent Board
    Decent Case
    Decent PSU
    2 x Samsung F3 1TB
    ATI 5670
    Linux

    Hi every one, I know something about it. So I want to share with you. For a Xeon based machine and video editing. Never attempted but would recommend sticking with windows. Though some Linux experts will almost certainly right me.

    It would be exciting to observe a video benchmark with latest 6 core, 12 thread processor versus 2 Xeons (16 total threads). I’m thinking the 2 Xeons may hold their own - depending upon the CPU speeds... With that number of threads obtainable isn’t the disk subsystem going to be a vast limiting factor? I’m thinking you would require a RAID 0 x4 array to feed information to the CPU.

    A single i7 would perhaps be well for most applications. I'd use the additional on a first-class workplace graphics card and a raid array.

    But what system you construct depends on the programs you will employ. Any software chosen still?
