Default Replacing a 4870x2 (too) loud

    Hello
I have a Sapphire 4870x2 past year and a half, and I would replace it. Not because of its performance (very good). Then suddenly here are my criteria from most important to least: performance and noise equally, and power consumption, and finally price. Accuracy, I play in 1680x1200 maximum resolutions.
I hesitate between a 1GB 5770 to finally have peace in the noise level, a 5850 more expensive, but compared to my standards is positioned very well, or maybe a GTX460 although different tests I was not really pleased.

I said that if I take a 5770, I really do not change the limit every year (1year and a half or more, and finally difficult to assess) saw its price. In fact, I had the 4870x2 on a whim to me saying take all the best and do not ask me but I really changed my thinking since then, we must take into account all aspects of a card (performance, noise), because Torchlight or play Starcraf 2 with a turbo-jet engine noise is not good, I prefer to have less fps and playing silence.

What would you do for me? Thank you.

    Thank you,
I read that it decreased the lifespan of the graphics card cooling system, do you think?
And if it's still € 50 for a card that is worth more than anything. So is it worth it?

I can tell you that with the gpu and the VRM have 20 ° less, it will just take longer.

4870x2 is an easy one perf in 5870, so yes it's worth it. I mine here in the 35th Rockin search eBay and forums.

Your 4870 x2 is more powerful than a 5870 that's worth more than 300 €, so I understand why you find it expensive cooling gpu € 50, it enables you wait for the next generation graphics card with a low cost, your card will heat up less and quieter than the original map, if you resell the following is a plus.

The only cons is that it is an indication not necessarily easy to install, if you take some time to go slowly not to break anything, read the explanations and see the search-step tutorials on the net to be on to not do bullshit.
