Dead Space 2 takes place three years after the events lived aboard the Ishimura and pianetoide Aegis VII in the previous episode: At the start we find Isaac interned in a psychiatric facility on the space station Sprawl, declared insane and suffering from mental disorders due the terrible events of which he was leading, although it seems that his condition depends on something more complex.
Then we witness his release from someone who claims to help him regain his sanity, but the relief lasts for the freedom gained but little, we soon realize that the entire station is the victim of a massive infection of Necromorphs, the creepy mutated human cadavers have met in the past, and our primary goal becomes to escape from this new madness while trying to destroy the source of infection. As the story unfolds we will make the acquaintance of several supporting actors more or less friendly towards us, while we continue to be plagued by terrifying hallucinations that seem to originate from feelings of guilt for what happened to Isaac's girlfriend, Nicole, in the first game.

As for the actual gameplay, Dead Space 2 is closely following the footsteps of his predecessor, although improving the overall experience with different touches: how to control the main character in the past with third-person view and there you can attack multiple enemies using either weapons in extreme cases with shots in close combat. The focus of the title is obviously in our interactions with the Necromorphs, a sort of zombie aliens are able to take us by surprise, coming out from the walls and we face using a wide range of weapons: a difference in games in which some well-aimed blow can to kill any enemy, these are much more tough and we should look for before you even slow them down then dismembering him the coup de grace.
