    Default OnADance Mission Speaker

It's been a long time that we've not received much ado from Mission. But these industry pioneers recently launched a new range of speakers, just in time for our stereo special issue. ission electronics, better known in the audio world as 'Mission" recently launched its MX series of loudspeakers to cater to the needs of the rapidly expanding domestic audio marker. Farad Azima, the father of Mission, founded the firm in England in 1977 with a view to design and incorporate innovative technologies for loudspeakers that would be used in everyday listening. Amongst their newly launched MX range, Mission sent us the mx5 floorstanding speaker for a review this month.

    OUT OF THE BOX
Mission shipped the speakers to us in two large carton boxes well packed to reinforce them tightly to the carton to prevent any jerks while in transit from their warehouse to our studio. Getting these huge mx5s out of their packing was an easy task as my colleague lent me a hand. However, these large floorstanders have nasty pointed spikes below them, so you have to watch it while you're moving these speakers lest they'll hurt you while you're lifting them. Going back to the drawing board, the Mission designers have rendered an excellent finish to the cabinet of the speaker. On the rear, 2 glossy ports have been provided on the upper and lower half of the cabinet for an enhanced air movement within the cabinet and these ports also have foam based covers that will come in hand, to protect the speakers from dust should you go out for a long vacation. The mx5 comes in four different finishes of black, cherry, rosewood and walnut. Also the grilles don't come off; this is really helpful in protecting your speaker cones from the little ones who are willing to play with almost anything in your home.
