The W902 brings a 5-megapixel camera to the Walkman handset range. In these days of mobiles offering 8 megapixels this might not sound like a big deal, but in fact we reckon 5 megapixels is quite enough for a mobile phone to offer and if you want more then a dedicated digital camera is a better bet than a phone.
The W902 has a neat candybar design measuring 110mm tall, 49mm wide and 11.7mm thick. It weights 99.8g and it is easy to pocket and comfortable to hold.
Sony Ericsson doesn't always get its button design right, but in this case the number keys are large enough to hit comfortably. The remaining front buttons and the D-pad take a circular theme and with three functions nestled on the left and right roundels things do get a bit tight. If you've thick fingers you may want to try before you buy.
As an HSDPA-supporting phone you might want to use the W902 for things like Web browsing, but the 2.2-inch screen is a little small for detailed work, though it is sharp and bright enough and its 240 x 320 pixels cram the information in. There's no front-facing camera for two-way video calling, though, which is another HSDPA-related let-down.
