Hello everyone,

What is the config?
Defragmenting the registry, delete junk files, defrag: all this if you have never cleaned or formatted windows recently.
Hello,
requires 2GB of ram but more is unnecessary and may even slow the machine as windows will take care of the resource to manage it and you will have no advantage over 2GB.
If you lack space on the hard disk, make as if the defrag does not do so because of that Windows is greatly slowed by the lack of space too.
If you can not go from FAT to NTFS for lack of space, then change or purify the disc.
I am against the formatting that are in series of computer repairers who offer no alternative but to erase everything.
I'm glad to hear that the processor would still drive, I just hope it's not too dusty.
By cons, strangely, on the bodywork of the PC, I have a sticker "Intel Centrino 2 inside" does not correspond to a dual core M?
If you'll buy a new hard drive, you must reinstall the OS no matter what happens.
In addition, we may well reinstall an OS and keep the data it had previously SD: one does not preclude the other.
In short, am updating the BIOS (if necessary), add a 1GB strip (10 € secondhand or 20 for 2GB) and take a DD in 7200 (minimum 160GB): You will not recognize your Cell !
If not for the well relocation funds, the registry and especially its management rather deplorable fact that over time it becomes necessary to start with a clean install.
For the rest, 2GB is ample and good Hdd 7200 will do nicely.
This operation is done regularly anyway. The data are saved elsewhere, format or not, nobody is immune to failure, to take just one example. So formatting does not cause data loss as they have been carefully saved.
And on a comp like this is the first thing to do before investing in anything, and after we see if adding RAM and the passage has a DD of 7200 rpm 's requires.
