    Default Temperature weird i5 2500k

I just installed a 2500k i5 and I am aware of temperatures surprising. Indeed in the bios, he said, about 65 degrees while the desktop software hw monitor tells me 40 degrees on each core and the software tells me 37 degrees Asus.

    What temperature is it?

Otherwise what cooler is less than 25 euros you advise me.
    Thank you.

In the BIOS, the process is not idle, in particular, it operates at its nominal frequency, so it's natural for you to a higher temperature than when it is actually downclocké Windows.

Your temperature under Windows seem shocking to a proc @ Intel stock cooler with the case and a closed (not worry too much about the difference between HWMonitor and AI Suite, you're at about 40 ° C). For the 65 ° C in the BIOS, it actually seems a bit high even though I have no real point of comparison. Have you ever turned a Prime95 stress test or other Windows to compare?

60 degrees is nothing to stop frightening huh. Beyond 80 degrees it is necessary to ask questions. If in doubt go vs OCCT and test.

Go change the intel cooler base. If another fan think about investing in a good thermal qt bindings and check your cooler.

Hello, I have 45 degrees in the bios "MSI" with my i5 2500k and Prolimatech megahalem under OCCT "still without OC" I have 58 degrees on the hottest core after 1 hour. Will I have a good time (I would like to OC then, without my computer becoming a toaster.)

    Thank you in advance.

As long as it does not begin to exceed 80 it's going to blow it but after that it stays there or goes down.

If there is a regulation, the maximum temperature target to aim for is between 75 and 80 according to the possibilities of the cooler, the housing, noise tolerable etc.
