    I received as a gift a Dell Studiolaptop bought at an authorized Dell Retailer. When I tried to buy anexpanded warranty for the machine, I was created aware, by DellWarranty and System Sales, that Dell has different warranty coveragesand costs depended upon where the product was bought. It can be theEXACT similar machine down to the color and Dell has differentguarantee depended upon where you bought it.

    I have receivedindirect quotes of among $500 - $600 for a 3 year premium warrantywith in home service after remote technical diagnosis. You don'tdetect it that the total price of ownership for the machineskyrockets till yet after you by it.


    I wish your retailer as a great bringback policy. This is for a machine purchased at Best purchase,Staples or Costco. This information is from direct quotes from phonecommunications with Dell representatives at Dell's sales phonenumber. A warranty for this exact same machine, configured andpurchased with the price for 0..

    And Dell's quality hasreached such lows that an extended warranty is essential. Butdepending upon where you but the machine, the warranty can costpretty above half the price of the machine.

    You can watch this cost alter like you compare other makes when the warranty is received when you purchase or later. Isn't this more an matter of the purchaser doing their research up front?

    Unluckily, Dell doesn't receipt to the deviation in warranty price. You just detect this out later you purchase the machine. And Dell won't quotation the warranty until after the machine is presented to the client because they require the service tag.

    Therefore, the purchaser cannot beware because Dell won't acknowledge to the difference in price and won't afford a price till yet you already ave the machine. They are adamant about NOT disclosing the warranty price and the purchaser doesn't recognize the price is jacked up significantly after buying the machine.

    Hence it isn't purchase beware but more Purchase be ready to bring back later the sticker shock. A $390 warranty can cost $600 and it is restricted to its coverage. You pay more for less.

    Dell quotes horrific prices for their notebook/ netbook warranties after you purchase their product. If you call their back up they will cite you warranty update prices instead of extension prices, without telling you that it is an upgrade.

    Many customers succumb to this trick and finish up paying more as compared to they require to. Like referred earlier they do not disclose warranty prices with their websites. Price quotes can vary between different support representative. Be aware of the trap if you expect to purchase Dell warranty as you are likely to pay more as compared to you require to.

    Not only does Dell not expose their warranty pricing and charge more depending upon the agent and department you call into still they do not stand behind their buy agreements. I am the dupe of a hook and change tactic by Maria Feliz Decastro and Rachelle Lai of Dell's Warranty Sales department. She quoted me $389 for a Premium warranty , with paper, verbally affirmed that is what she was selling me earlier she charged my credit card but only delivered a basic 3 year 24 x 7 phone support warranty. This is even called like a Basic plan.

    Communication with Customer Care, Warranty Sales, Corporate turned out fruitless. Various managers admitted it was a bait and change, that it was an illegal immigrant maneuver but that Dell wouldn't honor the buy agreement and would just repay my money. My experience with Dell above the past 3 months was that if they refunded my money I was never going to watch any warranty at anywhere near the advertised price.

    I'm in the process of putting together my complaint to the Consumer Protection Departments in CA and TX and am viewing suing Dell in Small Claims Court in CA. They attempt to say you that because you're buying from them you are agreeing to do thus below the laws of Texas. My transaction was interstate and that creates it interstate commerce and a federal issue.

    Dell, if you're supervising these forums, you know who I am, contact me earlier this couple of hundred dollar bait and switch finishes up costing you thousands in attorney fees.

    Any updates from yourselves or dell like was badly viewing a large number of dell XPs 2nd generation laptops bray & bray solicitors uk........
