Sound-out and on-board speakers at the same time ???????

Inmost laptops, as early as you switch into the sound-out jack, theon-board speakers are disabled. It would be good to be capable toapply the on-board speakers and supplement them on a small outsidewoofer or a couple of little external speakers.

Hasanyone been capable to do this with the XPS 15? Many months agosomeone wrote that he had been capable to do it, by clicking fewalternatives in the Realtek audio panel that seemed when he switchedinto the sound-out jack. I've been unable to do that. If anyoneexperiences how to apply sound-out without disabling the on-boardspeakers, please share.

Well, I attempted doing this also and my searches lead me to virtual audio cable. I can't remember for what reason that I dis-remember about the entire thing and ended up only using the dual output to headphones or external speakers but hopefully that should afford you somewhere to begin seeming for a solution.

That Virtual Audio Cable software doesn't seem to have anything to do with my goal. I'm not seeming for dual output. I expect that when I link headphones or external speakers to the sound-out jack, that I can adjust the laptop's on-board speakers not to disable. The default is that as early as you link a switch into the sound-out jack, that the on-board speakers are disabled. I expect to alter that behavior thus the speakers are not disabled.

I was wishing there might be a mode to do it that's not thus permanent. Sometimes I would expect the on-board speakers not to disable, such like when linking tiny travel speakers thus I'd expect everything speakers to play.

Sometimes I'd expect the default behavior of on-board speakers being disabled, such as when linking laptop's sound output to a large home stereo.

Well the only other thing I can think of is the Speaker or Setup option under Speaker or Headphone in the Realtek HD Audio Manager panel – may be altering that to Quadraphonic or 5.1 might assist?

I had the same thought. I've been playing about with it, but so far have not detected a mode to have sound-out and on-board speakers active concurrently.

I can't confirm it now but I remember switching the headphone to the SPDIF and my laptop speaker was however working. Just when I link to the other headphone jack, the laptop speakers are disabled.
