Thread: WiFi Link with Netbook

I only purchased a 7" brand newnetbook on WiFi capability, but no matter what hotspots I go to, mymachine will not link. The manual tells to click on WiFi icon, but itlets me just to change the WiFi power ON and OFF. I go to networkconnection, and it is empty; I go to Control Panel/Internet Options/and displays just Internet Options for User Agent: Default same asWindows XP; Same as Pocket PC and Windows CE. I click on Windows CE,since it is the machine's OS. However would not link to WiFi.Therefore, I go to Network and Dial-Up Connections and it displays:ADSL, Active Sync, 3o Modem, and GETCE681. Since I'm looking toconnect via WiFi, I watch no alternative for me to apply. Can youassist?

I have bought three of the smartbooks for my kids for Christmas. None of these computers have the wifi icon in the bottom right hand corner to search for a wireless network. Only surprising if anybody has detected the solution to this trouble. My kids are actually bummed above this. Can somebody please assist?

No make, model or connections thus any guess would be a bad one. Attempt creating a novel post in the CNET Computer Help Forum and plus the required details thus the first reply is not asking "What is it?"

I bought one of the. Since the specifications, are everything above the place, this may not assist. Right click with the battery icon in the task bar. You should acquire a display on the stats and a line saying "Option" left click options. Then click with the WIFI power to turn it off. Then repeat to turn WIFI power on again. This has worked for me. Quirky little things. Luckily, when I purchased a cheap netbook, I was needing a cheap netbook. I enjoy it thus far. Only very quirky.

To be fair... it is a cheap netbook.... my one anyhow.... and in the description when I bought it with ebay... it did tell that the wifi is a bit slow, and does not always link... BUT... mine will not link at all.... It acquires stuck with "associated with sky..." and then sometimes it will link - acquire me everything excited and then it alters its mind again.. Actually do not experience what to do... did you fix yours in the end?...
