I downloaded it from synaptic package manager. Then i go to the end and type in dosemu and the name of the program that I am applying as windows movie maker, or some other program. Then it says can not detect root path to CDROM drive. I tried so many things online to alter it but nothing works.

If I am reading your previous post perfectly then DosEmu is a DOS emulator, not for playing windows programs as movie maker. You use WINE if you want to use windows based programs on Linux which you even acquire from the package manager, this could be your trouble. DosEmu is just for playing pre windows 98 programs and games.

I applied wine earlier for programs, but not all exe files work, and it lags as crap. I as well attempted a program called bochs, and mingw32 for Linux with win32api settings, and I can not acquire that to work either. Please help me!

Have you attempted Wine tricks which is a compatibility layer to setup the programs? It will be in the software manager, only do a search for it and setup. It works better as compare to only wine itself. Remember still, not every windows programs will work on Linux unless you buy few commercial software. There is more as compare to likely will be a only like good alternative for example you are attempting to setup movie maker then attempt Open shot from the software manager.

Not attempted bochs or mingw32. What windows programs are you attempting to run? I have never acquired any windows games or directX apps to work, but many programs work with wine.
