Thread: Dell XPS 17 Mini card driver modifies

I have a dell xps 17 with aintel wireless 1000 and i use a t mobile broadband dongle, I requiredto alter this to a intel wireless 6300 and a intel wwan 5440 thus Ican move the broadband within and get a good wireless. I did notorder it with a tv tuner, or a wwan to start with.

I emaileddell support asking about this and they said I could not have a 5540as the cable would be missing. Thus I thought I would not have thewwan cables and I do not actually need to open up the rear of thedisplay to put them in. they recommended a intel 6250 as a singlecard solution.

I took aside the laptop to take a feel at whatconnections I had within, I had all 3 cables for the wireless and the2 wwan cables, so instead of applying the intel 6250 single cardsolution would I however be able to put a 6300 wireless card in and aintel wwan 5440.

I think you answered your own question there should be no trouble and the intel 6250 is a wimax card not certain if it will do the wwan your wanting, not certain of your perfect specifications for the wwan

Ok I was surprising like the dell support monkey I talked to made it sound as it required a cable as well as the antenna to acquire the wwan to work.

Yeah, either of those installations should work; you should not require any additional cables for the mini cards apart from the antenna.
