I have to stress that the netbook runs on XP. I as well have an XP computer but that is all. Neither product arrived on installation disks, just a partition.
The three alternatives as New disk , New motherboard , New netbook
In your alternative, do you think it is worthwhile acquiring keep of a boot flash, or better/cheaper on a new disk? I bring it if I go with a new HDD there will be no OS on it thus I would have to begin from scratch.
What do you mean on a "boot flash"? New hard disks, surely, do not arrive on an OS. You have to reload that yourself from the recovery media that arrived on the netbook or that you created when all however was alright.
There is a recurring story with netbook owners that opted not to purchase a DVDRW USB DRIVE that lets them to create recovery media. After they might complain about the cost to reinstall the OS.
I think I have read about a lawsuit above this like considerable. But it seems you will require at least the novel HDD, the USB DRIVE and recovery media from the machine's maker. Should be cheaper than a repair counter.
