Default Laptop HD will not start

    Hi,
I have a HP G60 Laptop. Onlyremoved from box and I acquire an error msg "#10008 - replaceHD". Called HP and will not honor as out of warranty. Yes,believe it or not, they did not believe that this was only carry outof box 2 years later buy. I am going to price out a new HD. If Ipurchase one, what software do I require to be able to apply it onthis laptop. Never had the chance to make any recovery disks.

Pull the HDD and attempt it in few desktop for testing. I hate to write this but HP destroyed a laptop of mine in warranty and I am out a laptop. There was an effort later but as they failed, I disposed of the laptop.

My ideas? First try the Generic Reset, and try the Generic Reset later on each idea. Pull the HDD and put it back in and re-test. Pull the HDD and test it in some other machine as you don't want to buy a HDD when the trouble is elsewhere.

    Hi ,
Attempted all and no luck. I was not able to attempt it in another r laptop because pins were different.
Is there anyway I can get a boot disk? Would that assist? Any other way to confirm HD is bad?

Only in case you require to setup a new HDD, you require to purchase HP's recovery disks to setup all that was on the old HD.

New HD and recovery disks and all is working alright. HP was no assist at all on this. I will have to think very hard about purchasing another HP.
