Thread: Dell inspiron puts turning off

I have the dell inspiron 15. Whenever Imove the lid rear from its present position it goes to sleep. If thelaptop is shut and I open it, it will turn off a few seconds later Ihave opened it. This is very bothering, not only for this reason butalso whenever I pick up the computer, if a bump the lid it will turnoff. Assist me!!!!!!!!

When you close the cover of the laptop the computer goes into Hibernation, which is when the computer switches off but donot forget what you were last doing.

To disable it follow these steps:

1. Go to the Control Pannel and make your way to the Power Options.

2. Then click on "Select what closing the lid does" on the left hand side.

3. Change the setting from Hibernate to Do Nothing.

The trouble is not when I close the lid, its really when I open the lid or push it rear as a little

Has the lid always been slammed close? You have have loosened the senor that tells if the lid is up or down.

You would have to send it into Dell, but have you always slammed it earlier? As well how old is the laptop?

I acquired it this past august, and I m not certain if I have always slammed it
