    Default HP dv9000 help

I need help guys for am lost...:( I just cleaned my hp dv9000 after a wine spill and everything works except for my touch pad...I cleaned it but I don't know what went wrong. the blue light next to the touch pad lock turns on but it does not work...I only remember seeing one cable that connects from the pad to the motherboard, unless there is another one that is missing...what can the problem be...any help will be appreciated...

depends on what version of the 2.6x kernel you are running also I don't think that the version that came with the distro has all the headers that are needed to have compiled for the various machines that use the touchpads. I downloaded the 2.6.6 kernel and compiled it and made sure to use the nomce psmouse.proto=imps option
had no problems so far other then it hangs a tad bit when first used but so long as move it around a bit to get it to "warm up" it's fine.
