Default Upgrading Bios does laptops heats up?

I have an older laptop. I don't view any dissimilarity in way the PC performs but I like it to remain cooler. You can actually feel the dissimilarity all over the bottom still the HDD remains at 8 degrees cooler. What would you guys do, keep new bios or go back to original version they really started out with v 13 and now it's up to v 25. That’s how many fixes and updates they've done to it.

I would personally go back to what it was; and find out the problem if you didn’t have any problems with the old bios there was no require to update. The XP service packs will operate the similar despite of bios version.
