Default Comparison of GPS software for Android offline

    Hello everybody,

I'm looking for a comparison between offline GPS on Android because I will soon have to make a few trips to Europe.

I searched on various sites and on this forum but difficult to do a review because most of the time, opinions are more or less subjective.
The only test I found that putting a face to face on smartphone GPS software is on-numeriques.com, and again, because it is the iPhone software.
Does this test could help me or not?

I suspect that finding answer to this question is a difficult task, but with my hand, I have only very limited information.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

I found advice users on the forums, but in general it is contradictory. "Navigon cay of the May", so I confess I do not really know what software to choose.

If it can really interested in the world, I will try to make a compilation of information about the GPS software so if you could test them or own one and you can stay more or less objective, we can try to that here.

I faced this problem and the best I've found is LOCUS.

Free, not very intuitive but once we understood the mechanism, works very well.

It can import maps from Google or Yahoo or many other sites on the route / area as you want depending on the level of detail chosen.

By cons, it's not really a navigation tool (do you understand that not calculate a route between two points or guide you on your journey or when I switched to side).

Not at all, as reception is equivalent with the advantage of having a single device, in fact I still do not understand the point of having a GPS from.

I also advise you to take Navigon.

I used on my nokia n95 Nokia Maps (maps of the world for free, the only cost is an annual subscription for navigation around 10 euros per year, the free version is not out on the N95) which I found simple use and that matched my needs.

I changed to an android phone, colleagues told me that Google browser was enough for France so I tested some way and it does not match what I'm looking.

It's hard to find a comparison of GPS software on android. That's why I propose to mount a comparative review of this topic from users.

For my part, I just configure the software, I test it tomorrow in the day.

First on return on Galaxy Navigon S Samsung with official support.

    - Quick Fix GPS and fast route calculation
    - Display clear what is the direction
    - Text-to-speech: nothing much to say except good
    - Radar Info: perhaps a bit close to the radar
    - Traffic Info, relatively efficient, and update the route in relation to it very much to my taste.
