Thread: Bug with safe in Firmware 3.0Beta4

Thanksfor porting one of the best games always, I am appearing forward toRiven and the others ! With the 1^st island, ind the little house with the boiler and the safe, I havefigured out the safe key and I can open it. But i can not bring thecontents out of the safe.

Alsoit is possible to close the safe again and then open it, but laterthat the game is deposited. The same happens if the safe is open andI turn away I can then turn around and open it again, but game willthen be deposited again.Iam running an iPhone 3g with firmware 3.0Beta4. Wish you can fix theerror soon, I experience am running a Beta OS, but however assist Iam not the only one.

Attempt to tap on the match box within the safe to acquire a match. If that actually doesn't work, then I suggest it's a bug... Cyan referred with Twitter that they haven't done anything with firmware 3.0 till yet. I do wish you can acquire about the trouble. Welcome to the forums by the way.

Thanks Fotografen for reporting your trouble. Like Erik referred, they have not done much till yet with the 3.0 OS but they are seeming into it and the troubles it takes to Myst. I will keep in a report on this and brightly the information you have supported will assist them acquire a fix for this.

I've only arrive throughout the similar trouble with iPhone 3.0 beta 5. I can open the safe with 7, 2, 4 and watch the matchbox but can't do anything to strike a match and then have to quit Myst because the game becomes unsusceptible. That's fairly much the only bug I've come throughout as far although.

Testing this bug myself, with the 3.0b5 firmware, I've detected that it doesn't only happen at the safe but at other areas as well. It happened when attempting to apply the Myst book later the starting movie, and flyover of the island. What looks to be happening is that the videos are arriving to an end, but quite rather the game resuming, it sticks with the last frame. Something to watch to be certain, but nothing to acquire also stimulated about at the moment. The beta firmware is buggy. iPod Touch 1Gen 3.0b5 Firmware.

Hmm.. the normal amount that an iPhone 3G has...? Is that relevant? As this is the 1st time I've played Myst it's fairly hard to tell what's really a bug and what's only other puzzle to solve.

Only expected to confirm with everybody that I've known the perfect similar matters with the game locking up. I experience that few of these matters have already been addressed but I only expect to post my experience. I am running iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 5.

The first place I remarked was when the extremely 1st book opened up earlier the game also starts. Then, it has happened a some random places since, but simply re-beginning the app looked to repair it.

The frustration actually kicked in when I acquired to the safe. My game locks up each single time the 3-digit lock safe door opens up. fortunately if you exit and re-enter the safe is open and you can acquire a match at that point. But if you close and re-open the safe...it's gonna lock-up.

Another thing I've remarked is the sound will cut out in places. One place I remarked was withing the clock tower. There is a 3-digit puzzle within with 3 levers. I had the close sound of the environment but no sound effects for the puzzle - levers pulling and gear sounds were absent. Again, re-beginning the app constant it instantly. This has occurred numerous other places.

I had searched Google extensively with no luck earlier I discovered these forums and am wishing these matters are addressed soon. Does OS 3.0 beta appear to be the culprit here? Anyone knowing these matters with OS 2.2.1?

Yes, it's a trouble with the 3.0 firmware. I've attempted the game applying both the 3.0b5 and 2.2.1 firmwares, and have only watched the matter using 3.0 The method you referred will work, and the game can be finished using the 3.0 firmware. I didn't remark the sound cutting out with the gear puzzle still.

It was just one time with that specific puzzle. Still, it has happened numerous times in several other places. The bug or glitch hasn't happened in the similar place twice for me...not till yet at least.
