Thread: Freezing up on start up display

I required to attempt this out toevaluate this earlier buying and downloaded the free version.Applying an 16GB ipod touch ver 3.1.2. Have above 2GB of freememory and did a shut down and re-began the unit to flush the memoryout.


Loaded Myst Free onto the ipod touch.Begin up the game and the 1^st some displays arrive up(notice and two splash displays of the developers). The a blackbackground display with (what seems to be) stars with the top half ofthe display and few object partly drawn in the middle of the display.


Then ... that is it! No more images, nomore activity. Tapping with the display does nothing and I wait for asome minutes (okay - 2 minutes) and nothing happens. I have attempteddownloading the game again from iTunes store and reload into the iPodtouch with the similar results. Any suggestion or assist would betreasured.

Does it go via the credits earlier it stops, and if yes, is it a book (the object) that you watch? If so, you require to touch the book, if not, and a reset has not assisted,

Only like a follow up to this issue, I have been contacted by somebody from Cyan (possibly support or developer) and they have indicated that it is possibly a firmware matter - the most recent firmware is 3.1.2 with the iPod touch. Most people would be with 3.0 or 3.1.0/1 ... I had attempted removing the app, producing more memory (by deleting other apps, music, films etc) and then resetting the iPod. Later downloading again, it however freezes up - thus the trouble manifests itself at the similar point of the introduction.

The developer contacted me and asked if I watched the intro movie. I promptly responded "What intro movie? All I watch are stars with the top half of the display and what appears to be a book being faded in but freezes up." I think Cyan is today aware of the issue and am rather happy if they expect me to officially submit a fault ticket.

Therefore, if you are including troubles as Yorrick where the game freezes or crashes at the same spot from the acquire-go (in other words, it always did that from the first time you downloaded the game). try downloading the game again. You can do this by removing the app (Myst Free) and then going to the Myst Free iTunes page and strike the 'install' button.

By the way, if you remove the paid version of Myst (or any paid app), Apple does remember that you have already purchased it and will LLOW you download it again for release.
