DTV is not the police for apple, but instead, attempts in good faith, to defend the networks content's and their contracts from piracy.

I experience this is an older post but I had to reply to it anyways. I do not experience what your knowledge regarding jailbroken devices is, but is does not permit you to acquire content from the directv application in any form. Jailbraking is entirely legal. It is extreme bothering that Directv is doing this when everyday many more people decide to jailbrake in order to customize their devices, the few way people customize their computers by adding whatever software they please.

Directv has no right in alienating their costumers that decide to do an exactly legal action such as deciding to jailbrake their devices. I would not be wondered if a lawsuit is presented to them when enough people decide not to bring it anymore. We have the right to jailbrake and by alienating us, Directv is violating our rights.

By JB your device you are altering how your device operates. and like such, DirecTV have no control above what occurs in that device, because of this DirecTv and many other have decided not to backup JB devices. and DirecTV is not violating your rights, they are only following the TOS with their suppliers.

You might have a point but I however agree to disagree. Jailbraking does not alter a device any more as compared to when someone determines to setup windows with a computer running Linux and they do not have control above that either.

By the way, forum administrators, I do not take account you removing my last post in the main segment. Do it again and I am done on Directv once and for everything. I was only taking to every-bodies care an issue, not offending anyone.

Who are you kidding? you experience how tight the apple iOS is. And this is what DirecTV is banking with. A JB device does not have to follow apple processes, thus DirecTV can not control what the software does to their content. Give up. It is not going to happen.
