Thread: Mobile phone car charger into USB power

So I have a Universal Serial Bus cord for my mobile phone and PSP, and I have a car charger for my mobile phone. What I am wondering is, since my car adapter supplies 5V at 1A, which is excellent for the mobile phone and excellent for the PSP, can I modify it so I can, rather of attaching my cellphone exactly into it, additional my two USB machines in?


With that told, if I can handle to do it, would it be dangerous to attach in other Universal Serial Bus machine, such as LEDs, fans, or other non-driver needed gadgets? Or would the twice then normal amperage (Universal Serial Bus supplies 500 mA, this one would supply a full amp) fry anything else that I attach into it?

Keep in mind, all mobile phone is different; this is how it is done for a Motorola i530.

I was desiring it had only be to strip the charger cord and search the cords that give me +5V. Then splice in a Universal Serial Bus slot

I have a Universal Serial Bus data/charger cord for my mobile phone. I have a Universal Serial Bus charger cord for my PSP. The mobile phone needs an amp to charge. The PSP needs 2 or less. I have a cigarette lighter car charger the my mobile phone that outputs one amp DC. I need to basically turn the DC car charger into a USB port for charging, letting me charge my PSP from the cigarette lighter.
