Thumbs down General tips applicable to all phones

    TIPS:-

] Contacts and messages are checked most frequently on a phone. Always delete unwanted contacts and old messages to keep your phone memory free. It will also help i'n quick navigation.

] Take a backup of contacts and calendar entries once a month on your memory card and the PC too, to safeguard against data loss, theft or software problems.

] Press *#06# to check the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI Number). This number is unique to each handset and is helpful in case of thefts, or for device-specific software.

] If you have your keylock activated, just press the 'Power' button to turn on your backlight to look at the time when it's dark.

] Always keep your phone updated to the latest firmware. New firmware is made available on the manufacturer's website. It helps in better memory management and adds little tweaks and add-ons. (Make sure to backup contacts and other data first).

] Keep your phone shielded from dust and liquids, as these are the two main reasons for hardware problems in the handsets.

] If you keep your phone in your pocket, make sure that no other metallic object is kept alongside. Over time, scratches on the screen could hinder viewing.

] If you want a case, make sure you get a case designed for the phone by the manufacturer itself. Cheap cases could damage the device.

] To keep your screen protected, get a screen protector installed as soon as you buy the phone. You can easily buy one online.

] If you have to copy large files to your phone, use a memory card reader rather than Bluetooth or data cable as it is much faster.

] Programs that run constantly in the background should be installed in the phone memory to improve speed and stability.

] Programs that only run when you use them (like games, Google Maps etc) are better off stored on the memory card to increase the available RAM on the phone.

] If you find yourself out of coverage area, dial 112 to make your mobile search any existing network that can be found and connected. 112 is the worldwide emergency number, it can be dialed even if the keypad is locked.

] 911 can also be dialed when the keypad is locked. If you dial 911 and your service provider has set a switching service, the call will be directed to the local emergency numbers. You can test it to be sure.

] The way you hold your phone can lead to poor reception and dropped calls. Try and keep your fingers off the phone's antenna, which is usually located on the back, near the top of the phone.
