PGR4 was the game that literally kick started Microsoft's next-gen parade. It was the game that had us drooling over its sweet style and sophistication, the game that tried extremely hard in keeping racing as simple and as streamlined as possible and it succeeded at what it intended. Bizzare Creations is a very talented group. Right from the glory days of Metropolis Racer on Dreamcast and then to even better times with the first three PGR installments, they surely have managed to capture the liking of many.

PGR4 is all about substance above anything else and it fills up the evident gaps that were to be seen in the previous installments. The game is divided into two main parts: Arcade and Career. Arcade basically comprises of all the exhibition events. As I mentioned earlier, PGR as a franchise has always been about keeping . it pure and simple and at the end of the day, your job is to simply get to the finish line. Everything is centered around KUDOS, which are rewards of sorts for showing your skills while driving in terms of speed and style. It's a great concept as it helps to extend the play time and leads to a series of new events.

In Career mode, all challenges and events remain intact but you can only compete once. Winning these events will earn you championship points which prolongs your career. There are plenty of rides to choose but the inclusion of bikes did come as a nice surprise as they're incredibly enjoyable to ride.

The visuals are nothing short of breathtaking. The cities, the tracks, and the surroundings look so real that I had to actually take my mind off the race and admire the sharp textures. The car models look surreal and are made of thousands of
polygons. The weather effects are by far the best that I have witnessed in any racer. The MP component is fairly standard and works like a charm. There is no sign of any lag in a room full of eight players. Nice! PGR4 is one of the very few titles that manages to strike the perfect balance between style, immense realism, and
fantasy. Highly Recommended
